Barbie was the brainchild of Ruth Handler, and the American business lady launched Barbie way back in 1959; which also implies Barbie is 50 years old now.
The fond and the iconic doll played by millions of girls across the world, came and wooed in several costumes – now for a change will come with a burka. The burka Barbie is product of the designer Eliana Lorena.
The typical Islamic woman’s attire of burka is given to the black Barbies on the event of doll’s 50th anniversary. Eliana Lorena, the Italian designer dressed up the Barbies in this unique attire.
The burka-clad Barbies will be sold in an auction in Florence, Italy, and used for ‘Save the Children’ charity.
