Sony Ericsson’s Google Android phone SE XPERIA Rachel details leaked

Posted on 07. Jul, 2009 by ARK in Buzz

While Sony is still not willing to give into any details of the new Sony Ericsson’s Google Android phone, a Danish website leaked the photos online

Let’s take a sneak peak into this new kid on the Android block.

Part of SE XPERIA series (so far has a windows mobile X1 model), this smart phone is given a codename as Rachel (ah! Not my wife’s name) and its no hair cut.

If you have been looking for something open saucy since Sony entered the Open Handset Alliance last year, you will not know about it so soon though.

The new Android based SE Rachel will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform so the processor speed is about 1 GHz and a 7.2 Mbit a second HSPA downloading speed.

Sony also did cut away the keyboard in the new SE Rachel. Without the slide-out keyboard, the phone definitely looks slimmer than its forerunner Xperia model. SE Rachel android phone also has a larger touchscreen than the Xperia predecessors giving it a big look feel.

An 8.1 MP with auto focus camera and flash is another big good feature of Sony SE Rachel. There is also 3.5mm headphone jack and the touchscreen is believed to be a pressure-sensitive one.

With a big touchscreen, the look of the Sony Ericsson’s Android phone appears bigger, however more details are awaited. It could be possible that Sony SE Rachel could well run on forthcoming Google Android 2.0 OS.
