Health experts warn against “swine flu parties.” Health experts expressed serious concern on throwing Swine Flu Parties, the trend that originated recently from the Internet forums and picking up as a rage amongst some communities.
Parents, in the hope of inducing infection of H1N1 virus into their kids, are showing interest in holding Swine flu parties (just like Botox parties). Their belief; children infected with mild strains of H1N1 virus could become immune to more virulent strains of the H1N1 virus.
The trend of hosting swine flu parties emerged recently on various Internet forums actually and is picking up quite fast. The idea maybe an extension of the erstwhile popular chicken pox parties, which were held to induce resistance to the virus strains towards, if any, subsequent infections by the virus strains.
Health officials are warning against this idea though. According to Dr Richard Jarvis, the Chairman of Public Health Committee of the British Medical Association, the intentional exposure to the H1N1 virus, even to a milder strain, could have the risk of fatality and so warned people against throwing Swine Flu Parties.
