Typhoon Kompasu lashes central South Korea

Tropical cyclone hit south Korea early Thursday morning. The Typhoon Kompasu, as it is named, struck the central South Korea region causing chaos and disturbance in the transport service of the region. The metropolitan subway service came to a grinding halt.
The typhoon got weakened from a category 3 storm and as it passed through Okinawa Japan, schools there were closed and some flights too were canceled
Typhoon Kompasu was so strong that it brought in winds of hurricane strength and torrential rains. The typhoon uprooted many trees and there were many power outages in the cities along the west coast of the S.Korea.
Typhoon Kompasu disrupted airline transport services too, and the South Korean Airlines have canceled few flights and diverted some domestic and international flights.
