US East Coast braces for tropical storm Hurricane Earl

The tropical storm Hurricane Earl has intensified and prompted warnings and watches all along the East Coast and Canada.
According to the National Hurricane Center in Miami the Earl has been generating winds at the rate of 145mph and is concentrated 410 miles south of the Cape Hatteras, N. Carolina and about 870 miles south and the southwest of the Nantucket, Massachusetts.
The coast of N Carolina to Maine and Nova Scotia (Canada) has braced up for the hurricane and the tropical storm.
Earl was forecasted to shift to north by Thursday and gain speed by Friday and expected to touch the Outer Banks of N Carolina.
However the NHC predicts that the Hurricane which is a Category 4 storm might slowly lose some of its intensity by Thursday.
North Carolina is all geared up to face the brunt of the tropical storm. Force winds were forecast to hit Virginia coast and New Jersey Thursday or Friday. Rain was forecast and it is expected that water levels may rise and dangerous surf and rip currents were also forecast from Bahamas along the East Coast through Friday.
Both North Carolina and Virginia Governors Bev Perdue and Bob McDonnell declared state of emergency in the respective states.
