Archie Panjabi bags the best supporting actress at Emmy Awards 2010

Indian-origin Archie Panjabi whose role in the film ‘Bend it like Beckham’ instantly brought her huge following from home, bagged best supporting actress award for the role she played ‘The Good Wife’ at the Emmy 2010 awards.
Archie Panjabi bagged the award pushing aside Rose Byrne (for role in ‘Damages’), Sharon Gless (for the series ‘Burn Notice’), and Elisabeth Moss and Christina Hendricks for the ‘Mad Men’ series as well as her own co-star Christine Baranski for the drama series ‘The Good Wife’.
Panjabi debuted in ‘East is West’ British film in 1999 and there was no looking back for her. She went on to do many roles in international films including ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ in 2002.
Her role in the film Yasmin in 2004 won her the Best Actress award at Reims Festival in 2006. At the Berlin International Film Festival (2005) she was conferred with Shooting Star Award (given to emerging actors from Europe).
