Commonwealth games theme song unveiled
Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman launches the CWG 2010 theme Song.
The games theme song starts as, “Oh! Yaro, yeh India bula liya,” was unveiled in Gurgaon at a glittering function on Saturday (August 28, 2010) night. AR Rahman himself sang and performed the CWG theme song at the function.
The function was attended by Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Haryana Bhupinder Hooda and also CWG Organizing Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi.
AR Rahman was given the task of composing the CWG 2010 theme Song 6 months ago. Rahman confessed that the song was done with only on Friday night. So, there’s one thing that the CWG organizing committee can heave a sigh of relief; on time completion of at least one thing the CWG 2010 theme Song
The Chairman Suresh Kalmadi says that the CWG theme song would be a huge hit.
The song, “Oh! Yaro, yeh India bula liya…,” truly sounds like an anthem with a hook line and the orchestration sounded very good. Rahman deserves a pat for the wonderful effort.
