Japanese pop star and actress Noriko Sakai faces drug charges

The actress and pop star Noriko Sakai on Saturday was charged with possession of drugs.
Police searched her apartment in Tokyo on Friday only to find drugs. They later provided an arrest warrant and the actress surrendered on Saturday night.
Sakai avers, ”I don’t remember stimulants being in my room, but if they were there, it must be true.”
The 38-year-old pop star who is also popular as Nori-P, first came in a TV show 2 decades back but became instantly popular. She featured in several TV commercials.
It’s known that Sakai’s husband 40-year-old Yuichi Takaso had been taken into custody by police on Monday after police found drugs hidden in his underwear; the couple are staying separately though.
Toyota officials released a statement that Toyota was considering to drop the actress from their commercials.
Even Sun Music Production Corporation urged the pop star to render cooperation to the police.
