I can say that after days of starvation for good hummable track, I have found something really cool. The stand-off between film producers and multiplex owners finally ended only for the good of film lovers, in specific music lovers. We now have tracks worth listening and humming.
The music of the film New York is now doing rounds among music lovers and in no time took them by storm for its not only refreshing its youthful and hummable. New York soundtrack has four originals, two instrumentals and two remixes.
Aye saaye mere, composed by Pankaj Awasthi, who also gave the voice rendition for the song has a rustic feel with a fusion of urbane feel at some stances. Well sung, the music makes Aye saaye mere quite engaging, listen worthy and humming worthy this Aye saaye mere….
Hai junoon… sung by KK sounds familiar yet its very catchy. The foot and hip twisting catchy number will soon become a rage with hip hop crowd, KK has such a youthful voice and the music complements his voice so well.
Mere sang…. and you are bowled by Sunidhi Chauhan’s talents. Wow is what I could say. She is still going strong in mesmerizing the listeners. I didn’t quite like the lyrics though.
‘New York theme’….this becomes the highlight of the album. The music sweeps away on the listener. In my thoughts, this instrumental becomes key to the success of New York album.
Sam theme is another instrumental. It is slow but definitely soothing to ears. Loved this engrossing track.
Then there is tune jo kaha…. rendered by Mohit Chauhan. His soft voice with characteristic style makes it humming worthy, albeit you get a feel that you have heard the song before. Engaging lyrics makes you stand and listen to it.
So that’s it from New York, a welcome track in Bollywood after a longtime. One has to appreciate the wonderful job by Pritam which will surely strike a chord with every listener, more so the younger generation music buffs.
