British man pleaded guilty for infecting girlfriend with HIV

A British man was arrested and imprisoned for 1 year sentence after he was convicted of infecting girlfriend with HIV. The man also made the girlfriend pregnant.
The man, 32-year-old Nicholas Richards pleaded guilty of the grievous bodily harm to his 19-year-old girlfriend hiding the fact that he was having the HIV.
The young girl discovered that she had the HIV at blood tests done during her pregnancy.
The baby fortunately didn’t contract the HIV. The 32-year-old Richards though claims that he didn’t know of the risks of unprotected sex.
Sun, quoted that Judge David Caddick told Nicholas Richards that “it was terrible and wicked behaviour.” Richards has been warned of the behavior. Sittingbourne-based Richards was given 5-year sexual offences prevention order which bans him from having unprotected sex.
