Murder of Somer Thompson questions child safety in US

Earlier it was 8-year-old Sandra Cantu from California, now its turn of 7-year-old Somer Thompson from Florida to die mysteriously.
Florida girl, 7-year-old Somer Thompson went disappearing on October 19, 2009 while returning from her Grove Park Elementary School. It is rumored that Police department know how the young girl died, although they haven’t disclosed anything yet. They finsihed interviewing the regular registered sex offenders living within 5-mile-radius distance of Somer’s home, at Orange Park, Florida; but they seem to be tight lipped as regards the missing girl case.
Somer Thompson was found dead days later after missing; she was spotted in a Georgia garbage landfill. Autopsy had been performed on Somer Thompson but police undisclosed the report to save the integrity of the case and its progress.
Somer’s missing prompted search involving human volunteers, dogs and even choppers, and the entire nation prayed for her safe return. Sadly, detectives saw her mortal remains; legs separated and spotted first and then garbage-covered Somer’s body in a landfill. Garbage trucks lead the investigating team to Somer’s mortal remains.
The news of Sommer Thompson’s death ripped her family and now the family only hopes and prays that the killer of the slain Somer be found soon and prosecuted so justice prevails.
The killer maybe found; but does it end the child abductions that so often have been happening? Yesterday it was Sandra Cantu, today it was Somer Thompson and tomorrow it could be any young girl; the questions on child safety seem to be unanswered!
