Space Shuttle Discovery leaves for International Space Station

Space Shuttle Discovery launch happened finally and the space shuttle leaves on its 13-day mission to the International Space Station just before Friday midnight, August 28, 2009 from the Cape Canaveral launch pad.
Discovery launch had been postponed by over 4 days because of a snag in the fuel valve and inclement weather. On its 13 days mission to the International Space Station, Discovery is expected to deliver Leonardo supply module, research equipment and also will replace Timothy Kopra the flight engineer with Nicole Stott.
The payload of the space shuttle included CO2 haul system, sleep crew station for the space station, and ammonia coolant system tank. Besides, there is also a treadmill; The Colbert Report.
