FDA reports toxins in electronic cigarettes
The US Food and Drug Administration officials report that electronic cigarette samples had carcinogenic chemicals and harmful material upon random lab analyses.
The electronic cigarettes, which are a rage now are also popular as “e-cigarettes,” and are battery operated devices. The cartridges in these e-cigarettes possess nicotine and filler materials. The nicotine is transformed into vapor and the user inhales the nicotine vapor. However, according to Dr. Margaret A. Hamburg, Commissioner of Food and Drugs some e-cigarette brands they have analyzed to determine the levels of nicotine were found to contain carcinogens.
According to the commissioner, in one particular sample the FDA detected diethylene glycol which is a known toxic chemical to man. Other harmful chemicals included carcinogens and nitrosamines.
These studies conclude that some of the e-cigarette brands had carcinogens and toxic chemicals in levels that could be detected to which users may get exposed to.
So if you contemplate on quitting smoking quit smoking in true sense!
