Researchers at Oregon National Primate Research Center made a breakthrough genetic engineering study and this could further lead to mankind fight against the inherited diseases the easier way.
The scientists engineered the DNA of egg in monkeys to remove risk of transmission of inherited diseases to their offspring.
They’d engineered the DNA of rhesus monkeys; taken out healthy DNA from the eggs and placed them in substitutes so there were healthy monkeys born.
If this is worked on and perfected, soon we could engineer human egg DNA and remove risk of transmission of inherited diseases to children. The lead scientist also believe that it could soon be a reality as the procedures so developed could be replicated through the IVF techniques making the technique quite easy.
