According to British scientists, influenza especially in the flu season might account for increase in deaths due to heart attacks.
They further say that influenza vaccine could prevent the deaths due to cardiac events. However, not many people comply with the flu vaccination schedule and the researchers say that people prone to heart attacks should take vaccination, or people who have cardiovascular problems should definitely take the vaccination.
The efficiency of the influenza vaccine to reduce the risk should be further established with further study and research.
