Swine flu vaccine- Australia to begin first human test of the H1N1 vaccine

First clinical trials of a swine flu vaccine (h1n1 vaccine) on human beings will begin on July22, 2009.
CSL Ltd, a Melbourne-based company is contemplating on the idea of clinically testing a H1N1 vaccine on human volunteers, who are healthy and in the age group of 18 and 64. The volunteers will get 2 shots of the vaccine (instead of one) with 3 weeks space between each shot and their blood will be sampled to determine immunological response to the H1N1 virus in the vaccine.
Swine flu has drawn serious attention from the WHO and other private agencies after rapidly spreading across all continents. From Mexico where in the first swine flu case was identified the virus had spread to over 120 nations and close to 100k swine flu infection cases reported. The virus had been declared as global pandemic by the WHO in the month of June 2009.
