CWG 2010 theme song Swagatham composed by A R Rahman gets GoM nod

The CWG theme song composed by A R Rahman for the Commonwealth Games 2010 gets approved by GoM. The double-Oscar winner composed the theme song titled ‘Swagatham’ for the Commonwealth Games 2010 and it’d gotten approval from the GoM (Group of Ministers) on Sunday, August 15, 2010. With only 40+ days remaining for the Commonwealth Games 2010 to commence, the music maestro took all interest in composing the song and get a quick nod from the GoM.
The song will become public during the next week according to official sources. Rahman will be adding his last touches to the approved CWG theme song and will present to the public soon.
The Commonwealth Games 2010 theme song ‘Swagatham’ will be performed as the last event song at the opening ceremony.
Rahman presented the theme song ‘Swagatham’ to the Group of Ministers along with the film makers Shyam Benegal and Bharat Bala. It is said that the Oscar-winning music composer concentrated to generate enough of excitement along with sending the right message.
Fans expect that the CWG theme song will be comparable to Shakira’s ‘Waka Waka’ that created a musical tsunami during the FIFA 2010, although no details about Swagatham were revealed.
