The ECB (The England and Wales Cricket Board) bans England cricketers from being active on social networking websites including Twitter and Facebook, while on duty..
The list of players that own sizeable fan following at their respective Twitter pages include Graeme Swann, Kevin Pietersen, James Anderson and Steven.
Among these, both Anderson and Swann are tweet regularly and even having battle for ratings, and Pietersen too doesn’t stand behind as he is one to tweet day in and out.
While players see at options of netting sponsors via tweeting and facebooking, team management looks at players not losing focus off and concentrate on their field performance, especially when on duty.
The ECB and the team management also believe that tweeting could bring out what happen to be secrets of the dressing room that might unduly benefit opponent teams. Considering these the ECB bans English players from posting to the Twitter or Facebook pages.
