Mark Webber- German Grand Prix Formula 1 2009

32-Year-old Australian Mark Webber finally broken the jinx and won for himself podium place in the German Grand Prix Formula 1 2009. The Australian driver wins his maiden Grand Prix race victory at the Nurburgring circuit in Germany in what had been an action filled race. He finished first the race 9.3 seconds for Red Bull ahead of his fellow Red Bull driver German Sebastian Vettel. Ferrari driver Felipe Massa finished 3rd.

Mark Webber in fact even survived one collision with Briton Lewis Hamilton and that’s at the start when he took the pole position but after that there had been no stopping to the 30 plus Australian Red Bull racer.

Both of the Brawn GP drivers Rubens Barrichello and Jensen Button finished sixth and fifth, respectively. And this now means the championship is still not anyone’s and we have it open for three of the drivers with Jenson Button still in the lead behind Vettel and Mark Webber.

While many people might say that it is technical glitches (Barrichello had almost a 11 second pit stop) that gifted Webber a winner title, the Red Bull still believes that he has what it takes to be a Grand Prix winner and to prove it he won the pole position yesterday ahead of Brawn drivers.

It was Alan Jones in 1981 that won the Grand Prix race for Australia and now Mark Webber happens to be another Australian to stand on the podium. Webber wins after almost 8 years of his F1 track life. Following are detailed results for top 10 positions:
