Roger Federer becomes six-time Wimbledon champion! OMG!
At the Wimbledon Center Court Roger Federer wins 6th Wimbledon trophy and he had to play 5 sets with Andy Roddick to prove the world that he is still reigning champ in the world of tennis and has what it takes to be one all-time tennis great.
American ace, Andy Roddick looked he had done all the homework and worked so hard on his returners to play a match with the Swiss pro. Although he had played against Roger Federer in 2004 and 2005, Andy looked pretty different and evolved this time by what we saw him play. He had displayed awesome tennis and his forehand drop shots and so his returners were a treat to watch; no wonder the match went to 5 sets.
Andy Roddick wins the first set 7-5 then the next 2 sets were Rogers both 7-6 and the fourth had been easy for Roddick with 6-3; courtesy Roger Federer’s forehand errors and wonderful returners from Andy.
It was the fifth set that had all elements of a thriller. The nail biting 5th set went on as a marathon where the two aces returned and dropped but it went to 16-14 to see him break Andy’s serve and get that championship title. In the event he has surpassed Pete Sampras’ 14 Grand Slam majors and sets a new record in the history of tennis!
