Death risk due to breast cancer consistently declining in United States

According to researchers the trend of dropping of death rates due to breast cancer began in the 90s but seems to continue still, the news that could well cheer us.

According to facts and findings presented in the Breast Cancer Facts & Figures-Years 2009-2010, during the last decade the rate of decline amongst the African-American and the Hispanic races is as similar as in Caucasian women; the death rate remain 40% higher for the breast cancer in the African-American women than the Caucasian women.

Breast cancer is major cause of death among other cancers in women in US, however, it should be noted that the likelihood of death due to breast cancer has been declining these days (for over 10 years now).

Thanks to the research that identified several breast cancer risk factors and these could be altered; as in containing the use of postmenopausal hormone therapy that has associated breast cancer risk, banning certain antiperspirants, etc.
