Susan Boyle, set to overtake Taylor Swift to become the biggest seller of 2009

‘I Dreamed A Dream’ the debut album by Susan Boyle is now 3 weeks old from its release but has already been sold about 1.8m copies in the US. It is all set to catch up with Fearless to become top album of 2009.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, ‘Fearless’ by Taylor Swift is currently the biggest seller of 2009 with over 2.53m copies sold so far, and Susan Boyle’s ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ was sold 1.8 million copies in 3 weeks’ time. Mind you, before the year closes, there will be 2 more chart weeks for SuBo to catch up with Taylor Swift.

Yes, Susan Boyle has still chance and her ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ could become top album of 2009, and there is some interesting fact to reiterate it could happen as well; Susan Boyle set a new chart record this current week when her ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ was sold over 500,000 copies in United States; this makes her the first female to sell more over 500,000 copies in the first 3 weeks of album release.

With Christmas round the corner, many will have had the ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ in their must-buy list and SuBO might well overtake Taylor Swift’s ‘Fearless’ and it could become the top album of 2009.

An interpretation based on the week’s first day sales; Susan Boyle may well sell around 600,000 copies by weekend and that’ll take her to Taylor Swift almost close.

It is just a couple of weeks away when actually Susan Boyle might well claim her ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ as the number one album of the year 2009.

There are 12 tracks in the album and here is the tracklist of I Dreamed A Dream:
1. Wild Horses (4:55)
2. I Dreamed A Dream (3:10)
3. Cry Me A River (2:42)
4. How Great Thou Art (3:12)
5. You’ll See (4:42)
6. Daydream Believer (3:19)
7. Up to the Mountain (3:31)
8. Amazing Grace (3:35)
9. Who I Was Born to Be (4:10)
10. Proud (3:22)
11. The End of the World (3:15)
