Lenovo eBox will be the new gaming console on the block

Chinese IT major Lenovo plans to enter into gaming industry. The company said it will bring out video games console by this year end.
By launching its games console Lenovo vies place alongside the Wii of Nintendo, Xbox 360 of the Microsoft and PlayStation 3 of Sony.
Motion game market is huge and the market is shared by the three big gaming consoles and if the Lenovo eBox console is well received by gamers, it can hope to take a bite in the market share.
Chinese largest computer maker, Lenovo has actually made a prototype of eBox console. Lenovo also wants to part off the production and marketing of eBox to its sister company, Beijing eedoo Technology Ltd.
According to the Lenovo, eBox could be connected to hi-definition TV sets and also the Internet. Besides, the Lenovo eBox is a console that is controller free and can be operated by gestures (motion sensor technology). Targeting the entertainment requirements of Chinese households, the Lenovo eBox will be launched by 2010 in China and later launched in Asia-Pacific and other overseas markets.
Lenovo foraying into the gaming sector of IT and electronics shows the intentions of the company to diversify into new product types which also include smartphones, netbooks and tablets.
