Motorola launches its new Google android running smartphone on Thursday. Desperate for a hit, Motorola believes that their feature-packed new Android smartphone could take them back to the top place in the cellphone market. The device called Cliq will be available during the later part of 2009 in US through the T-Mobile services.
Cliq comes with a touch screen and a sliding (from side) QWERTY keyboard. The phone uses a software MotoBlur from Motorola and this enables to pool up information such as user messages including text, mails, facebook, twitter feeds, images (from email sources all as one stream) to sync as one account. So there is no need to login to different account to update yourself. You get to know what people updated if not where they updated.
The widgets application will enable you to know about your friends’ facebook updates right up on the homescreen.
Cliq also comes with a 5-megapixel camera and has access to Google programs and applications. However, the smartphone will be Dext outside US and will be launched simultaneously in Britain, France, and Latin America later part of 2009.
The pricing of Cliq is not available as yet. In fact, Motorola was badly hit by otherwise smartphones. In the recent quarter Motorola sold just about 18.8 million units which is down from about 28.1 million units last year. There had been no hit model after the Razr from Motorola, which was a hit long time back.
